St.
George's Day Parade 2003
On Sunday 27 April, Beavers, Cubs and Scouts from
all over the Melton area joined together to march from Scalford Road car
park, through the town centre to St.Mary's Church, to remind everyone
about St George, the patron saint of England. The weather was not
brilliant but it was worth the march in the rain, as when we got to
St.Mary's church all the Beavers, Cubs and Scouts renewed their promise.
The church service was made even more enjoyable by the Curate of the
Team Ministry, John Whittaker, who used the theme from the Harry Potter
story in his talk. Readings were done by members of the 4th Melton Scout
Group. The march back to Scalford Road was much drier as the sun shone
on the parade.
