13 May 2000
The main event during the afternoon was the one-hour sponsored endurance test.
How many laps
could be completed
in 60 minutes, working in teams of three, one driver and two pushers.
- 5th Melton completed 58 laps.
- 4th Darwin and Livingstone completed 55 laps
between them, 4th Darwin retiring after only 10 laps due to a lost
wheel.
- 1st Old Dalby completed 51 laps.
- 36th Melton completed 43
laps in the Sellars Mark II Go-kart.
- 7th Melton (St.Francis) completed 42 laps.

Our Sellars Mark II came third in the most stylish
kart competition (1st Old Dalby came first and 5th Melton were second).
The weather was on our side and everyone who
attended seemed to have a great time. Nigel from 7th Melton organised
the event for the District and he deserves a BIG thank you.
The Cubs raised £100 in sponsorship from the event.
It was divided as
follows:
- £50 to our chosen charity which, this year, is
Whizz-kidz (The Movement for Non-mobile Children).
- £50 to support Cub activities throughout the
year.
