Royal British Legion Visit
Last week at our beaver meeting (w/e 14 November) the beavers had a special visit from a representative from the Royal British Legion. During the visit the beavers had the opportunity to learn about the poppy appeal, about the veterans expirences and to ask questions about rememberance.
Fitness Challenge
Starting from this week (w/e 26th
September) our beaver scouts will be undertaking
work
to complete their Fitness Challenge Award. To do this they will
complete a
number of activities including
trying a new sport, taking part in a Keep Fit session and
designing a poster which promotes healthy eating.
Brentingby Hall
Farm
Visit
The 36th Melton (St. Mary's)
beaver colony, on the 11th September 2008, went on a
visit
to Hall Farm at Brentingby. This was a very successful visit
with the beavers
learning about the agricultural
industry and how it works, the wildlife around the
farm
and the animals on the farm. Beavers also had the opportunity to
visit the
milking parlour at the farm and to
learn about the history about the farm and
what
the old buildings were used for!

Sleepover
The 36th Melton beavers took part
in the first beaver sleepover in three years. it
was a
thoroughly enjoyed the experience. The beavers got involved with
a
number of activities, including
archery, hat making and wide games.
